Yesteryear Collection

At the end of World War I, when over 4 million soldiers returned stateside, America was in the midst of a boom. Factories were bustling. Prosperity was visible just about everywhere you looked. And a new mentality - one of speed, efficiency and "state-of-the-art" engineering - was propelling the nation into the future. One result of the phenomenon was the energetic "roaring '20s." Another was the Good Roads movement in which America's muddy dirt roads were transformed into an efficient network of concrete and macadam. Mack Trucks, Inc. played a vital role in this movement to speed and efficiency. The company began in 1902 when two of the five Mack brothers took over the Fallesen wagon factory in Brooklyn, New York. Other brothers soon added their talents and the company evolved from making horse-drawn wagons to motorized busses. In 1905, MACK moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania which soon became known as "the truck capital of the world." Allentown's new designation was not far from the truth, for Mack Trucks, Inc. became known around the world for their toughness and reliability for the quality of their engineering and the excellence of their design. In many ways, they were the power that built the twentieth century. Now, an early 1920 MACK AC Truck marked with the company familiar script logo and bearing the words "Allentown Penna" is re-created in an authentic die-cast replica. Precision-engineered and authentically detailed, the 1920 MACK AC Truck is produced by - and available exclusively from - Matchbox Collectibles, the greatest name in die-cast.
